Service overview

Car Servicing — done properly, on your driveway.

What it is

A mobile car service is a scheduled maintenance visit — interim (typically every 6,000 miles or 6 months) or full (12,000 miles or annually) — carried out at your location. Oil and filter, fluids, brakes, tyres, lights, wipers, belts and a documented safety inspection.

Who it's for

Anyone who currently loses a day to a dealer service, drivers of cars out of manufacturer warranty who still want a stamped history, and fleet operators who need vans serviced without pulling them off the road.

When you need it

By manufacturer schedule (usually annually or every 10–15,000 miles), when the service light comes on, before a long trip, or before selling — a fresh service costs less than a price drop from a buyer spotting an old sticker.

Why it matters

Regular oil changes are the single highest-return maintenance you can do — engine wear correlates directly with how long oil sits in the sump past its service interval. Skipping a service to save £150 today is how you buy a £2,500 engine rebuild three years earlier than you needed to.

What happens if you leave it

The cost of ignoring it is rarely the cost you expected.

Stretching service intervals

Oil breakdown accelerates non-linearly past the recommended interval. 20% over is fine; 100% over doubles engine wear.

Missing brake and tyre checks

Brakes and tyres are the two things that stop you crashing. A service that doesn't measure both isn't a service.

Gap in service history at sale time

A missing stamp costs typical hundreds off a private sale and more off a trade-in. Cheaper to service on time than to explain the gap.

Our process

Five steps. Same every time. No surprises.

  1. 01

    Booking & pre-check

You give us the reg and mileage; we confirm the correct oil grade, filter set and service items for that vehicle.

  2. 02

    Vehicle inspection on arrival

Levels checked cold, tyres and brakes measured, lights and wipers tested. Any concerns raised before starting.

  3. 03

    Drain, replace & top up

Oil drained hot, filter replaced (oil and air / cabin / fuel as scheduled), correct oil refilled to level, other fluids topped up.

  4. 04

    Safety checks

Brake pad and disc thickness, tyre tread and pressures, suspension bushings and shocks, exhaust condition, drive belts, hoses.

  5. 05

    Reset, stamp & report

Service light reset, book stamped or digital record updated, findings and recommendations sent by digital report.

The detail that matters

Mobile Car Servicing — the bits fitters usually skip.

Interim vs full service — what's actually different

Interim typically covers oil and filter, top-ups on all fluids, brake and tyre inspection, and a 30–40 point safety check. Full adds air filter, cabin (pollen) filter, spark plugs on petrol at the right interval, fuel filter on diesels, brake fluid check and deeper inspection of belts, hoses and suspension. Which one you need depends on mileage and time since last full — we're straight with you rather than upselling by default.

Oil grades and why they matter

Modern engines are engineered around specific oil viscosity and additive packages — 0W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40 and long-life specs like VW 504.00 or Ford WSS-M2C913-D are not interchangeable. Wrong-spec oil in a car with variable valve timing or a DPF regime can cause sensor faults, wear and warranty problems. Every service is done on the correct oil for the vehicle.

Diesel and hybrid specifics

Diesels need attention to DPF regen behaviour, EGR condition and fuel filter changes. Hybrids and PHEVs need brake fluid attention (they use it less, so it absorbs moisture over time), 12v battery health, and coolant checks on both engine and hybrid systems. We handle all three.

Whether it's a driveway job in Cardiff, a roadside call-out around Newport, or across the Severn into Bristol, the standard is the same. See the full list of services, or head straight to the contact page.

FAQs

Answers to what drivers actually ask.

How much does a mobile service cost?

Quoted on request — call with your registration and we'll give a firm price on the phone for interim or full service, factoring in the correct oil spec for your engine. No surprises on arrival.

How long does a service take on the driveway?

Interim around 90 minutes, full around 2–2.5 hours.

Will mobile servicing affect my warranty?

No — under the EU Block Exemption regulation you can have any qualified technician service your car using correct parts and fluids without affecting the manufacturer warranty, as long as it's documented and to schedule.

Will you stamp my service book?

Yes — physical stamp if the book exists, or a full digital service record where the manufacturer uses one.

Do you need water or electricity on site?

No — the van is self-contained. All we need is enough space to work safely around the vehicle.

What if you find something serious?

You're told before it's fixed and given a written quote. Nothing extra happens without you approving it.

Can you service company/lease vehicles?

Yes — many leases now accept qualified independent servicing on a full digital record. Check your lease terms first.

Do you cover locations outside your main three?

Yes — regular coverage in Gloucester, Swansea, Taunton, Hereford, Brecon and Chepstow.
